Other than this, in Vicksburg, in association with the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station, its College Of Engineering provides master’s programs in science to students. Also, there are numerous farms beyond the core campus that are used for agricultural research work. Known as Mississippi State Bulldogs, the university’s intercollegiate athletics teams participate in NCAA Division I athletics. In 1932, the university was the founding member of the SEC. The university team has won several competitions including national championships.
