  • Applicant must have achieved an undergraduate grade-point average of at least B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
  • Recommended preparation consists of courses in mechanics, electromagnetic theory, thermal physics, introductory quantum mechanics, advanced laboratory, and at least one course in mathematics beyond differential equations
  • Working knowledge of computers and of an advanced programming language is helpful
