City University of Seattle’s CACREP accredited Master of Arts in Counseling program prepares students to work as counselors in multiple settings
Four tracks are offered so students can choose from them:
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- Addiction Counseling
- Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling
- Professional School Counseling
All four emphases include core knowledge courses such as Multicultural Counseling, Career Counseling, Psychopathology, Psychopharmacology
A majority of coursework focuses on hands-on, clinical mental health skills, so students can start seeing clients and making a difference

The writing sample will be used to determine whether minimum qualifications have been met for admission to the program A CV/resume Completed, signed, background information form, with a history free of convictions for criminal misdemeanors and felonies Interview with the program director/coordinator or designee. The interview will be used to determine whether minimum qualifications have been met for admission to the program
