- The goal of the Professional Applied and Computational Mathematics (PACM) is to train graduate students for careers in many emerging fields that now demand a new type of workforce with solid and in-depth background in applied and computational mathematics, as well as with effective business and communication skills
- Students develop and employ discrete and continuous analytical mathematical models to solve problems and predict behaviors in current, real-life situations
- Demonstrate the ability to perform appropriate numerical computations and analysis to achieve deeper understanding of applied problems from diverse settings
- The PACM program consists of 27 credits of academic training in data analysis, mathematical modeling, business communication, and management, as well as 3 credits of research internship
- Students learn various career skills and interact with local business and public sector employers, who act as advisors to their program or internship mentors
