    • Mathematics must include fundamental definitions, concepts, principles, and operations
      • The applicant must have sufficient preparation in algebra and trigonometry to begin the study of calculus
    • Courses in the sciences should stress basic principles and conceptual and quantitative understanding through classroom and laboratory work
      • Chemistry and physics are particularly important as the background
