The Mathematics sequence in the Mathematics major first provides students with a strong foundation in Mathematics and then gives students the flexibility to explore various aspects of the discipline
Mathematics is one of the oldest and the most basic sciences divided into two categories: Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Mathematics
- Theoretical Math is involved with advancing science by developing new principles and new relationships between existing principles of math
- Applied Math uses the theories and formulates and solves practical problems in business, government, and engineering and the physical, life, and social sciences
  There is also the flexibility within the Mathematics major for a student to pursue a minor in a related field of study

Class 12th	No specific cutoff mentioned Applicants must have passed high school Applicants are required to complete a core high school curriculum that includes: English - 4 years Mathematics - 3 years traditional (algebra, geometry, algebra II) OR integrated (math 1, 2, and 3) Natural science – 2 years with laboratories Social science – 2 years Foreign language/Fine arts – 2 years of the same language OR 2 years of fine arts
Exams	TOEFL: 79 IELTS: 6.5 SAT: Accepted
Additional info	Students who have attended a high school for 3 years or more where English is considered as the primary language of instruction can fulfill the ELP requirement
