Computer Engineering combines Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and deals with the design and application of computer systems
The goal of the Computer Engineering program at SFSU is to provide students with a practical, hands-on education that emphasizes applications
The first two years of the program are designed to build a strong background in mathematics and science to provide a basis for understanding the underlying analysis and modeling tools and physical principles that are common to all engineering
Graduates of the computer engineering program are expected to have, within a few years of graduation:
- Established themselves as practicing professionals or engaged in graduate study in computer engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated an ability to be productive and responsible professionals

Class 12th	No specific cutoff mentioned Applicants must have passed high school with good grades Applicants must have studied four years of high school mathematics, one year of high school chemistry, and one year of high school physics Students are encouraged to include courses in mechanical drawing and computer programming Equivalent of US high school completion with 2.5 grade point average (GPA) in the 4.0 grading scale or B- average is required
