  • Mechanical engineers work to improve the design, safety, and energy efficiency of the machines that support industry and society – machines such as vehicles, aircraft, mechanical prostheses, wheelchairs, lifts, and industrial plants. It is the broadest of all engineering disciplines and allows students to choose from the widest possible range of specializations
  • Students can choose up to 4 elective courses from areas such as business, product/industrial design, or entrepreneurship or take the opportunity to study a semester abroad
  • Students will have an opportunity to build vital professional networks and hands-on industry experience with 12 weeks of professional practice throughout their degree
  • On successful completion of the program students will have:
    • Comprehensive, theory-based understanding of engineering fundamentals and/or the underpinning natural and physical sciences as applicable to the engineering discipline
    • Conceptual understanding of the mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics, and computer and information sciences which underpin the engineering discipline
    • In-depth understanding of specialist bodies of knowledge within the engineering discipline
    • Discernment of knowledge development and research directions within the engineering discipline, etc.

Entry Criteria

Class 12thNo specific cutoff mentioned
  • Applicants must have passed the All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) with 13 points
  • Assumed Knowledge: HSC Mathematics (Band 5 or above) or equivalent. One science-related subject would also be an advantage (Physics or Chemistry preferred)
    • Applicants who have achieved less than Mathematics Band 5 may be admitted to the program but may need to complete additional study to successfully complete the requirements of the program
    • Applicants who have completed HSC Mathematics General 2 may be admitted to the program but can expect to undertake additional studies to successfully complete the requirements of the program
  • Recommended studies: HSC Mathematics Extension 1 or equivalent. Study of one science-related subject would also be an advantage (Physics or Chemistry preferred)
ExamsTOEFL: 60

With the following scores in each band:

  • Reading= 13
  • Listening= 12
  • Speaking= 18
  • Writing= 21

IELTS: 6
  • With minimum of 6.0 in each band 

PTE: 50
  • Section Minimum: 54

  • ELP waiver- Applicants who have completed their previous qualification in an institution where medium of instruction is totally in English, will be exempted from ELP requirement
