Established in 1850, Waynesburg University is a private institution that is associated with Presbyterian Church. The university is known to be a member of the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Pennsylvania and Council of Independent Colleges. This center focuses on bringing in insights from the United States constitution founding era. The university is famous for its student newspaper named Yellow Jacket. This newspaper is entirely produced by the students and is featured in the Department of Communications. The newspaper focuses on the coverage of community news, campus news, student opinion, coverage athletic conference sports team and other topics related to faculty interest. The newspaper is published weekly in the academic year. It was started in 1924. In addition, the university has a radio station run by the student organization and communication faculty members.
