Walla Walla Community College

Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is a reputable public community college in the South Eastern state of Washington, U.S. It is certified by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Peter Dietrich founded the college in the year 1967 when there was a need for a community college in the area. It was first established in Part Street’s educational complex. As WCC grew too big for this campus, it bought land to the east of the city close to the airport and expanded its existing facilities there. The college has an attractive campus spread over 130 acres of land on the edge of Titus Creek. The campus includes a café, fitness centre, stores, and athletic and recreational facilities.

The institute provides various educational services and programmes to the inmates of Coyote Ridge Detention Facility and Washington State Penitentiary. Qualified inmates may apply for admission to various academic courses, career-training programmes, and an AA degree. WWCC also offers counseling and placement opportunities. It has a comprehensive academic curriculum and employee training programmes with major areas of study including Workforce Education, Arts and Sciences Transfer, Basic Skills, and Pre-College. Furthermore, WWCC offers courses through alternative high school programmes, extended learning, workplace learning centres, dual-credit, lifelong learning opportunities, and outreach learning programmes.

The college offers 65 degree and 52 certificate courses in many technical and academic areas. Many of these courses transfer to other 2- and 4-year colleges. While 1-year certificate courses are offered in many areas, the majority of AA/AS degrees transfer to 4-year colleges. WWCC International Programmes is proud to offer services and programmes to each student. The primary goal is to assist the youth to achieve their dreams, help them pursue higher studies at the best university, and improve their proficiency in English, so they can experience a better college life.

WWCC provides equal employment and academic opportunities to all students, regardless of religion, race, gender, ethnicity, and age under any applicable federal and Washington State laws against discrimination. WWCC accepts students’ applications requesting monetary assistance to pay for college expenses and offers financial aid in the form of loans, grants, employment, and scholarships. The list of scholarships includes WWCC Foundation Scholarship, Local and Private Scholarship, Regional Four-year College Scholarship, and STEM Scholarship, among others. The list of notable alumni of Walla Walla Community College includes famous American sportspersons, including American Football Coach Chuck Martin, American Football Fullback Mike Sellers, and footballers Kimo Von Oelhoffen and Bryan Pittman.
