The University of Northern Iowa is a public university. It was established because of two major reasons. Firstly, because Iowa wanted to take care of the orphans of the Civil War veterans, and secondly, the state was in need of an institution that would give training to teachers. The first building of the university had opened its doors in 1869 and was known as Central Hall.
The University of Northern Iowa is situated in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The campus has Faculty offices called Baker Hall and Bartlett Hall. It also has Bender Hall, Begeman Hall, Biology Research Complex, Communication Arts Centre, a clocktower called Campanile, and residence hall – Campbell Hall.
