Commonly called CU Boulder, the University of Colorado Boulder is a public research institution of higher education. In the year 1876, to provide money for the formation of the University, the Colorado territorial governing body approved an amendment to the state constitution. In 1877, there were only 65 students.

Set in Boulder, Colorado, United States, it was established 5 months before the state was linked to the Union. It is a major university of the University of Colorado system. It has not just research facilities but also has educational and housing buildings.

Other than this, the East Campus mainly has a building for research and athletic fields. The University of Colorado Boulder is considered amongst the best places to live because of its convenient location.

Offering more than many academic programs in 150 fields of study and enrolled nearly 34,500 students in 2019, it contains nine schools and colleges. CU Boulder is actively running over 300 political, social, religious, academic, and recreational clubs for its students. As per the latest data, there were over 4934 academic members.

Maintaining one of the biggest Club Sport units in the country, it encourages more than 30 club teams of both men and women in sports like swimming and diving, fencing, lacrosse, baseball, softball, ice hockey, water polo, cycling, and rugby.

As far as its alumni are concerned, it has produced 5 Nobel laureates, 9 MacArthur Fellows, and 18 astronauts, 3 US Supreme Judge, and 5 National medal of Science. Its alumni number reaches to 500,000+ students from 62 countries. Some of the known alumni include President of Liberia namely Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. US’s Supreme Court justices namely Byron White and Wiley Rutledge were also a part of the university. Other than this, Monty Miranda (filmmaker) and Kalpana Chawla (Indian-American astronaut) were also their alumni.
