Tiffin University is a private institute that was established in 1888. The institute is famous across the U.S. for its excellent academic programs, experienced faculty, and a peaceful learning environment. The university started as the Commercial College that was affiliated to Heidelberg College for a period of 30 years. Popular business courses were taught during those years. The institute then separated itself from Heidelberg College and created a four-year curriculum for its graduate programs.
The university is located in Tiffin, Ohio. The sprawling 135-acre campus consists of 284 full-time staff members, with a total of 3013 students offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs. The institute consists of 3 academic departments, namely the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Criminal Justice & Social Sciences, and School of Business. The campus has all modern facilities that include modern classrooms, auditoriums, the famous Richard C. Pfeiffer Library housing a vast collection of books and journals, playgrounds, labs, and computer centers.
The institute offers extended learning programs that are offered at other regional campuses. Courses such as Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a concentration in Managerial Studies and Bachelor of Criminal Justice in Justice Administration are offered at Owens Community College, Toledo Campus. The Terra State Community College, Fremont, Ohio, offers Bachelor of Business Administration in Management with a concentration in Managerial Studies, and Bachelor of Criminal Justice in Justice Administration. Besides, the university also offers online courses for students. The MBA course is also provided on the Bucharest campus in Romania.
The university’s online and regular courses are accredited by the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) has accredited the institute’s School of Business. Furthermore, the European Council for Business Education has accredited BBA and MBA courses.
The Career Services department helps students prepare for jobs and develop employability skills. Students can attend the Professional Development Workshop. The other services offered by the department include individual career assistance, resume writing and cover letter writing, mock interviews, alumni panel sessions, job success sessions, job fairs and internships fairs, networking sessions, industrial excursions, and organizing seminars on best business practices and professional behavior.
The university offers a college work-study program for students. Under this program, they are offered part-time employment opportunities to earn money while pursuing their education at the university. The university offers various scholarships to students for assisting them in their higher education. But each student is eligible for availing only one scholarship/ financial aid or discount. For the undergraduates of the first year, the university offers the Trustee Scholarship, the President scholarship, and Dean Grant. Other scholarship programs offered by the institute include – Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUO) Discount, Athletic Scholarships, AVI Employee Discount, The Chamber & Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership Discount, Bachelor’s Degree Discount, Commodore Perry Member and Employee Discount, International Modern Pentathlon Federation (UIPM), Los Angeles, CA County Employee Discount and Fraternal Order of Police Scholarship.
