Thunderbird School of Global Management is a worldwide management institution set in Phoenix, Arizona. Established as a private, independent institution in 1946, the school, in 2014, was certified by Arizona State University. The educational institution got its name from a US Army Air Forces base which was decommissioned during the World War II era. The place was called Thunderbird Field No. 1 and it served as its campus for more than 70 years. From then on, the school has opened its campuses in other parts of the world, including Moscow, Dubai, Russia, and Switzerland.

The school offers a number of programs, such as Bachelor of Foreign Trade and Master of International Management. Moreover, it provides management programs in Global Management and other executive education programs in the same area. After the acquisition by ASU, the school started providing undergraduate-level programs, phased out MBA and introduced Master of Global Management and a non-MBA graduate degree program. In addition, the institution offers micro master programs.

People at the institution are referred to as Thunderbirds or T-birds. Apart from academic facilities, there are several services offered to students to learn and grow. Students here run a newspaper (school) which is named Das Tor. Also, the school makes sure that all the graduates should take at least 4 semesters of a foreign language or demonstrate corresponding skills. Other student activities include several sports clubs that allow athletes to represent themselves and the school on various platforms. One of the known clubs at the school is Thunderbird Rugby Football Club, which was formed in the year 1976.

Other than this, Thunderbird School of Global Management has a rich alumni base of around 43,000 alumni who are contributing to over 12,000 different organizations across 150 countries. It has successfully produced a number of notable graduates. Some of the known ones include Bob Dudley (CEO of BP), Walid Chammah (ex-chairman of Morgan Stanley), and Luis Alberto Moreno (president of the Inter-American Development Bank). Lee Abbamonte is an alumnus of the school who graduated in 2010 and known for being the youngest American to visit all 193 United Nations member states. Also, Ramon Laguarta is currently the CEO of PepsiCo who is also an alumnus.
