Texas Christian University (TCU) is a well-recognized private Protestant Christian university, which is located in Fort Worth in Texas. It was founded in the year 1873 as the Add-Ran Male & Female College by brothers Addison and Randolph Clark. TCU started as a progressive and personal college for men and women to lead and learn. TCU is the world’s only university to have the horned frog as its mascot. Though it is affiliated with the Disciples of Christ, it is not governed by them. It features a variety of bachelor level, postgraduate and doctorate programs for the students to choose from. According to The Economist, the institution has been recognized as the number 1 MBA faculty in the world.

The campus of the institution is spread across an expanse of 295 acres. It is constituted by eight constituent colleges and school and is known for its classical liberal arts curriculum. Roughly, it is divided into three areas, including an academic area, residential area and Worth Hills. The academic and residential areas of the campus are separated by an oak-lined street, University Drive that bisects the campus. It is to the west of the University Drive that the Student Union, residence halls and the Campus Commons are situated. Most academic buildings along with the library and chapel are located to the east of this street. All of the surroundings of the university are lined by live oaks and enhance its appeal. The institution’s campus is well-equipped with all facilities needed to facilitate an engaging environment for learning.

As of February 2016, TCU witnessed an enrollment of about 10,394 students, out of which 8,892 were undergraduates. In the year 2011, the university received 19,000 plus applications for over 1,500-1,800 admission slots. The acceptance rate of the students in 2011 was about 37 per cent. The student to faculty ratio of the university, in general, is 13:1. The university offers 117 undergraduate, 65 master level and 38 doctoral programs. Business and Journalism/Strategic Communications constitute the most popular majors of the university, which roughly account for 25 and 20 per cent of TCU undergraduates, respectively. Even financial aid is provided to the students by the institution to support education for the students.

Apart from being known for its academic excellence, TCU is also famed for its notable alumni network constituted by 75,000 living alumni roughly. Some of the distinguished members of the alumni network include writer Richard J. Allen, actress Tudi Roche, bestselling author Dan Jenkins, CEO of UBS Group Americas Robert J.
