The John Patrick University of Health and Applied Sciences was founded in the year 2009 by Dr. Brent D. Murphy, who was the founder and president of Advanced Radiotherapy Consulting, Inc (ARC), ARETE Medical Physics and Ascend Medical Physics. The university was previously known as ‘Radiological Technologies University’ (RTU). The goal of the university is to help students enhance their skills and develop their careers and reach their full potential.
The headquarters of JPU is in South Bend, Indiana and employs about 11 to 25 people. It began in basic radiology but has now grown to offer many different courses in advanced radiological sciences giving all students ample opportunities to grow. It has only one location and offers courses with in-class as well as online classes.
The graduate programs in Nutrition and Health are research-based online programs for individuals looking to expand their knowledge in the growing field of nutrition and health care. Each program has a strict and fixed curriculum along with dedicated faculty eager to impart knowledge and provide students with tools and opportunities to grow into professionals.
JPU is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). It is also authorized by the Indiana Board for Proprietary Education. JPU also accepts international applications for the School of Physics and Radiological Sciences, School of Medical Imaging Sciences, and School of Nutritional Health. Interested applicants can apply with their GRE and TOEFL scores.
It offers courses in Integrative and Functional Medicine, and MS in healthcare medicine. It also provides its students with the opportunity of earning the degree and certificates without leaving their job.
