Quincy University is a private Roman Catholic Liberal Arts University. The university was established in 1860 by Franciscan Friars. It is authorized by the Higher Learning Commission. The university also holds special recognition from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). The university provides a low faculty-student ratio of 14:1 and an average class size of 20 students.

Situated in Quincy, Illinois, The university offers more than 40 undergraduate programs, 9 pre-professional programs, and 3 graduate programs. The university maintains two schools and four divisions. The schools are dedicated to subjects, including Education and Business. And, the divisions are dedicated to Science and Technology, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts and Communication. It adopts resources and classroom technology in accordance with the specific academic courses.
