Pepperdine University is a well-recognized institution of learning whose construction was started in February 1937. It opened as George Pepperdine College on 21st November in the same year. It started out with 167 students from 22 US states and two countries, and 22 faculty members including 3 doctorate holders. It was within seven months of the opening of the institution that it got accredited by The Northwest Association. The institution was announced as Pepperdine University on 1st January 1971. Currently, the academic structure of the university comprises of five schools dedicated to various fields of study. Also, it holds the accreditation of Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WSCUC). In the “Best Colleges 2020: National University Rankings” under U.S. News & World Report, the university was positioned at 50.
Pepperdine University has six campuses across the U.S. Located in the foothills of Santa Monica Mountains, the university’s Malibu campus is the main campus. The West Los Angeles Graduate Campus is located near the 405 Freeway and houses the headquarters of Graziadio Business School and Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Located between Lost Hills Road and Las Virgenes Road, the Calabasas Campus is at a short distance from the 101 Freeway. The campus has a two-story building with a huge parking space. Situated on the First Financial Plaza Building’s second floor at a distance of two miles from the San Diego Freeway, the Encino Graduate Campus has modern classrooms, study rooms, faculty offices, reference facilities and computer labs. The university also has several international campuses in Buenos Aires in Argentina, Heidelberg in Germany, Florence in Italy, Lausanne in Switzerland, Shanghai in China, London in the United Kingdom and Washington DC in the U.S.
