On January 2nd, 1984, Dr Barbara Brown and Dr Ramsey Carter had opened the Northwestern Polytechnic University, which is also known as NPU. It was founded as a public benefit, not-for-profit Californian institution. It is a member of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. The University’s mission has always been to provide quality education to people from all backgrounds. It believes in values, including community, collaboration, honesty, diversity, the opportunity for success, student-centred, and academic excellence. The campus of NPU is situated at Fremont in California. It is easy to reach from San Jose, Berkeley, San Francisco, and Palo Alto. The campus has sports, computer and networking, and other community facilities.
The buildings on the campus also have reading rooms, campus libraries, assembly rooms, classrooms, computer rooms, recreation centres, game rooms, student association club offices, and database, simulation, and communications laboratories among other things. Some of the student organizations that are officially recognized by the university are The Number Club, Beats Fusion, Business and Engineering Student Association, Toastmasters International (NPU Chapter), and The NPU Community Outreach and Volunteer Efforts Society (COVE). NPU provides about five-degree programs. And, they include Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences and Business Administration, Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, and Master of Business Administration.
The School of Engineering offers courses in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The advisory committee consists of potential employers, industry professionals, and community leaders. The School of Business and Information Technology helps in developing a person’s communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, professional and ethical values, as well as ability to adapt and keep up with changes in the technical and business environments. General education comprises courses in English and Communication, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Mathematics. They help students to be good at written communication, oral communication, quantitative reasoning, information literacy, and critical thinking. NPU also has a course on English as a Second Language (ESL) that can help in brushing up your skills of the language.
