Northern Michigan University, situated in Marquette, Michigan, is a renowned four-year, public university that has developed its reputation based on its award-winning leadership programs, excellent technology initiatives, and nationally recognized academic programs.
NMU has a population of around 7,600 undergrad and graduate students. It offers more than 170-degree programs, including 25 graduate programs. More than 75 percent of NMU’s 300 full-time faculties have doctorates or the highest degrees in their fields. A characteristic of the NMU experience is that full-time staff teach at all levels from freshmen through graduate courses.
NMU’s 1,100 representatives view helping students as a college need, and also an individual objective. Its 360 acres of campus highlights 52 facilities including a university theater, a number of award-winning laboratories, a newly updated university center, a solely dedicated technology, and occupational sciences building, and a three-structure sports and recreation complex, including the Superior Dome, the world’s largest wooden dome.
Students enhance their professional skills at NMU’s three public broadcasting stations, WNMU-TV, WNMU-FM, and student radio WUPX. Along with the good quality campus, a variety of diversity in the surrounding geographical terrain serves the NMU people as a broad open-air classroom.
NMU has five academic divisions: College of Academic Information Services: Beaumier Heritage Center, College of Arts and Sciences: School of Art and Design, Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship, Center for Native American Studies, Center for Upper Peninsula Studies, Walker L. Cisler College of Business, Graduate Education and Research, College of Health Sciences and Professional Studies: School of Clinical Sciences, School of Education, Leadership and Public Service, School of Health and Human Performance, School of Nursing.
Northern Michigan University offers a wide range of scholarships and grants to admitted students who will be enlisted on the NMU campus. Some of them are First-Year Scholarships, assigned for first-year students who have not gone to any college/post-secondary institution after high school graduation school/post-auxiliary establishment after secondary school graduation and plan to enlist on NMU’s campus. Transfer Scholarships is for all the newly admitted students from other schools who will be enlisted on the NMU Campus are automatically considered for the Wildcat Transfer Achievement Scholarship and NMU Donor-Funded Scholarships, these are supported by private donors and have varying eligibility requirements for both need and merit-based applicants. Some scholarships are program-specific, while others are open to any major.
