New York College of Health Professions

The New York College of Health Professions is a school of holistic health and health guidance with the main campus on Long Island and the other three in NYC locations. Academic programs at New York College comprise five schools imparting practical experience in Massage Therapy, Oriental Medicine, Holistic Nursing, Health Professions, and the Science of Self-Improvement and Wellness. Beyond classwork, New York College manages an Integrative Health Center and Teaching Clinics where students take an interest in offering massage treatment, needle therapy, and herbal consultations to the public. The college degree programs have the accompanying educational objectives:

  • To give students the knowledge, aptitude and professionalism to be exceptionally qualified specialists in massage therapy
  • To empower students to be completely equipped for getting employment in their medicinal services field
  • To prepare students to be capable of passing the licensure or certification exams required to turn into an authorized or certified professional in New York State
  • To create in students a feeling of ethical obligation in the therapist-customer relationship and with fellow practitioners

The college has a Faculty-Student Committee, an advisory body that includes staff and students and is intended to advance a communication connect within the college community and ensure inclusion in decision making. The committee plays an important role in guiding the administration regarding concerns and goals about issues that influence the whole college.

New York College of Health Professions’ Tutoring Program is made out of two programs, the Peer-based program and the Faculty Tutorial program. The two programs offer one-on-one help and small group support to students in either the School of Massage Therapy or the Graduate School of Oriental Medicine. New York College of Health Professions supports these programs for students who wish to acquire extra help with any class subject. Help is accessible for all Health Science classes, Massage Technique classes and Oriental Medicine or Acupuncture classes. Peer tutors are students who have already completed a course and acquired at least an A- in the course. Faculty tutorials and midterm/final review sessions are led by New York College educators.
