The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, also known as MIAD, is a private college of art and design in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is Wisconsin’s only independent, four-year college of art and design. The students take motivation from the institution’s environment and connect in meaningful manners to arts and business networks. The institute has 9:1 student to educator ration accompanied by enormous studio spaces, internship opportunities, mobility programmes and visiting artists and designers which transform students from being purely passionate to passionate professionals. It offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in industrial design, interior architecture and design, communication design, illustration and fine arts.
Situated in downtown Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward neighbourhood, the institute offers degree programmes which include industrial design, interior architecture and design, communication, design, illustration and new studio practice. The organization is approved by the State of Wisconsin to give professional education to students of the visual arts and related fields. MIAD is an authorized institutional member from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). The institute is certified by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The BFA degree of MIAD is approved by the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board for training veterans. MIAD’s faculty comprises around 100 working specialists, designers and scholars.
MIAD acknowledges the artistic and academic accomplishment of students through a wide group of renewable scholarships. Based on artistic and academic merit, MIAD scholarships accept the innovative energies of the forthcoming student body.
