Founded in 1855 as a teacher’s college in Newark, Kean University is now a comprehensive, global institution of higher education. Kean was granted university status on September 26, 1997.
Kean’s main campus in Union, New Jersey is 30 minutes from New York City and an hour from Philadelphia. Also in New Jersey, Kean Ocean offers courses in Toms River and Manahawkin, while additional bachelor’s degree completion programs are provided at Kean Skylands in Jefferson. Kean is the only public university in the United States to have a campus in China namely Wenzhou-Kean University. This is an English-speaking campus that offers education to students from China, Kean USA, and international students located on a 500-acre campus in the foothills of Wenzhou, China.
The university has a total student population of more than 16,000 students enrolling for undergraduate and graduate level.
