John Brown University, located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, is a Christian University dedicated to imparting top-class academics inside a distinguished Christian fraternity. JBU has no affiliation with any religious sect and enrolls students from all faiths. This university is a spirited, widening, and independent college of science and arts vocations.
Established in 1919 by preacher Dr. John E. Brown Sr, it admits students from 41 states in the United States and from all over the world. It offers conventional online, undergraduate, graduate, and synchronous academic programs. The university is also recognized by the Higher Learning Commission and participates competitively in the famed Sooner Athletic Conference.
The university offers around 48 Undergraduate majors, 54 minors, 18 graduate Degree Programs, and 4 Online Degree Programs. The top 5 undergrad programs are Engineering, Nursing, psychology, biology, Family & human services. The Honors Scholars Program currently serves over 200 students from different countries and 18 states. The university is one of the Christian colleges which extends all-inclusive degrees in subjects such as Digital Media, Graphic Design, and Photography.
The university serves over 2,500 students from 50 nations and 41 states. With an average class size of 19 learners, the student-teacher ratio at CWU is 13:1. In the last few years, JBU’s academic programs have been recognized with research and other grant awards from organizations like NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. the university has one of the highest graduation rates in the South among Southern Regional Colleges. JBU also offers graduate programs in the areas of Business, Counseling, Education, Higher Education, and Cybersecurity. Classes are offered in Rogers, Little Rock, Siloam Springs, and online, depending on the program.
JBU is a member of the NAIA Division I and offers the numerous intercollegiate sports: Men and Women’s Soccer; Men and Women’s Basketball; Women’s Volleyball; Men and Women’s Cross Country; Men and Women’s Tennis. Students who involve themselves in activities are expected to attain higher grades, qualify, and have increased chances of success in getting employment positions. Some of the university’s academic clubs include History Society, ENACTUS, Student Business Council, FUSE, Christian Health Professionals of Tomorrow (CHPT), Visual Art Foundry, and Speech and Debate Club
The university also awards endowed scholarships to students with evident financial requirements. The Financial Aid Office assesses the need for a student and grants on the basis of the apt level and in compliance with the scholarship guidelines/criteria. The university has more than doubled the number of endowed scholarships over the last decade, awarding over $2.1 million each year. Almost 90 percent of JBU students receive financial aid and 276 endowed scholarships significantly contribute to this.
