Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is the Wesleyan Church’s Christian comprehensive university. It was established as Marion College in 1920. The university is Indiana’s largest private college as per enrolment, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities’ (CCCU’s) largest member and amongst Grant Country’s largest employers. It holds the accreditation of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Also, the institution is affiliated to the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), the Association of Governing Boards (AGB) and the Independent Colleges of Indian (ICI). Further, 12 of its academic programs are nationally accredited by various accrediting agencies.

The IWU main campus is situated in Marion, Indiana, and is spread across 320 acres. The Marion campus features world-class academic facilities and residence halls. It is home to Hall of Sciences and Nursing, which was inaugurated in 2014. It is a health sciences building covering an area of 111,250 sq ft and includes hi-tech research laboratories, spacious student interaction areas, and well-equipped teaching laboratories. Residence facilities on the campus include several apartment structures and nine dormitories. The campus also houses Wildcat Stadium, a football stadium with a seating capacity of 2,500, and a Chapel Auditorium. The university also has 14 regional Education Centers spread across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Each of these centers features modern classrooms, computer labs, conference rooms, and study rooms.

IWU offers over 5 doctorate degrees, 38 graduate degrees and 80 undergraduate degrees in various fields of education like accounting, business, sciences, computer science, design, social science, journalism, management, arts, media, nursing, philosophy, psychology, sports, and theatre. Over 3,000 students are enrolled in the university’s traditional programs whereas more than 10,000 adult learners are enrolled in its adult education program. The student population includes students from more than 10 countries and 80 Christian denominations. Also, the university provides students with several career services to help them achieve their career goals.

IWU has a network of over 84,000 alumni including numerous distinguished and successful people. Joseph Kofi Adda served as Ghana’s Minister for Energy under President John Kufuor. Brandon Beachy is a popular professional baseball player. Jean Breaux is the Indiana senate’s member. André Carson is a politician and the Democratic Party’s member. R. Sheldon Duecker used to be a United Methodist Church’s bishop. Laurell K. Hamilton is a well-known author best known for her two series; Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter and Merry gentry. Ghassan Hitto served as Syria’s opposition prime minister. Jerry Pattengale founded Purpose-Guided Education.
