The Gordon Institute of TAFE is one of the largest TAFEs in all of Victoria (one of the campuses). Its goal is to help people get skilled in order to easily get real jobs for over 125 years. They impart knowledge through a wide variety of TAFE courses ranging from short-term to nationally accredited training courses. Apprenticeships, certificates, diplomas, and advanced diplomas are all a part of the TAFE courses that act as an added advantage to help students in building a career or before getting enrolled in a university. With over 3,500 students annually studying on and off-campus, the institute located at Geelong also imparts English learning at a center within the campus premises. The institute opened in the year 1888 as Gordon Memorial Technical College. The institute not only provides hands-on training but also vocational education and work placements that help improve resume. The institute provides proper and affordable on-campus student accommodation.
The entrance requirement at Gordon is comparatively low and the course fees are lesser than a degree course. Gordon Institute of TAFE and all its campuses provide numerous courses to its students, including accounting, beauty therapy, building construction, cooking and patisserie, community services, fashion designing, engineering, interior decoration and design, lab tech and nursing.
The courses range from six months to three years, depending on the course the student wants to apply for. The entrance requirement for TAFE is:
(a) IELTS – 5.5 (no less than 5)
(b) Some programs require students to secure a higher test score in the English language.
