Florida State University is a public space and sea-grant institution located in Tallahassee in Florida. Founded in the year 1851, the university has been classified as a ‘research university with very high research’ by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Florida State University is one of the three state-designated preeminent universities. The main campus of Florida State University is spread over an area of 485 acres which includes the Heritage Grove apartments and comprises 14,800,000 square feet of buildings.
