Established in 1909 as East Central State Normal School, East Central University is a part of the Regional University System of Oklahoma. This public university is situated in the Ada region of Oklahoma, the U.S.A. Apart from that, the other campuses of the institution are at Shawnee, Durant, and McAlester.
The schools and colleges managed by the university are Education and Psychology; School of Nursing; School of Fine Arts imparting liberal arts and social science education; Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business and School of Graduate Studies. ECU offers honors courses, application courses, and certificate courses. A wide choice of subjects is available for bachelor’s courses. The women’s sports include Basketball; Cross Country; Soccer; Softball; Track and Field; Volleyball. The campus houses a soccer field, activity center, softball field, baseball field, and tennis courts.
