Daytona State College is a public college in Daytona Beach, Florida. Daytona State’s Academic Support Centers, situated at all campuses, are recognized statewide and nationally as models for the best learning center.
The staff and resources situated all through the 6 Academic Support Centers (ASCs) offer both students and faculty additional help for added achievement. Tutoring, workshops, review sessions, computers, printers, and other learning tools are available to all currently registered students. Faculty resources incorporate ASC orientations, workshops, test reviews, requests for SI, and more. Gateway to Success program Math Up is a free, four-day workshop offered seven days preceding the beginning of spring and fall semester classes that assists students with getting an advantage over the challenges posed for some by Intermediate Algebra.
Daytona State offers more than 100 certificate, associate, and bachelor’s degree programs. The college enrolls about 28,000 students a year at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields, including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering technology, computer science, and more. The college offers degrees online with certificates, A.S. degrees, and even bachelor’s. A few degrees are also offered partially online. The Career Services Department is committed to giving employment help to current students and graduated class. The Career Services staff looks forward to helping students by offering support related to career path selection, resumes, and interview preparation.
Academic Support Services is a cooperation of the Academic Support Center, Library, and the DSC Writing Center. Together, the main goal is to encourage student achievement, upgrade faculty support, and offer the types of assistance and resources expected to promote college-wide teaching and learning. In the Summer Bridge program, qualified first-time students can take SLS1122 Managing their Success and a math course free of charge. The program is held at the Daytona campus. This course is intended to help students in becoming engaged learners while transitioning to Daytona State College. Emphasis is on orienting students to college resources, academic expectations and career planning, time/money management, technology, student services/organizations, and academic integrity. This course is a graduation prerequisite for students in the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree.
Daytona State College offers a wide scope of scholarships. Scholarships are granted based on the information student gives on the admission application, or that colleges have on the document from different records, for example, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
