Henry Dwight Stratton, Henry Beadman Bryant and John Collins Bryant had graduated from Folsom Business College. Soon after graduation, they had bought the college from Ezekiel G. Folsom. In 1854, the Bryant and Stratton Business Institute was formed. In 1855, programmes for women were developed. The college gained popularity in the mid 19th century under the influence of Platt Spencer. Its main campus is in Buffalo, New York, United States.
