Established in 1984, Box Hill Institute of TAFE is a vocational and higher educational institution. It is associated with the Centre for Adult Education. The institute merged with the Whitehorse Technical School in the year of establishment. Initially, it was known as the Box Hill College of TAFE. Later on, the institute was renamed to its current name in 1994. The institute is known to be a part of the two box hill technical schools that later became colleges providing higher education.
In 2016, the institute opened its campus Lilydale Lakeside to provide easier access to the students. The campus comprises five well-developed buildings, a child care centre, and an Interim Trades Centre. The students are provided with all the facilities required at the campus. The institute also offers vocational courses in the fields of tourism, beauty, health, automotive, electrical, engineering, construction, business, graphic design, art, dance, music, fashion, live production, and the English language. They also get great opportunities to go for the student exchange program. This gives them a better understanding of industry-related work.
