Anna Maria College is a four-year, private, co-ed, Catholic institution accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Founded by the Sisters of Saint Anne in 1946. It consolidates liberal arts and sciences education with career preparation.

The College is located in the heart of New England on a 190-acre campus in Paxton, Mass., minutes from the vibrant college town of Worcester. It offers more than 35 undergraduate degree programs and over 22 graduate and continuing education programs. The popular majors include art and music therapy, business, criminal justice, education, fire science, legal studies, nursing, paramedic science, psychology, social work, sport management, and more. The college also offers an Honors Program and unique study-abroad opportunities. It offers academic excellence with respected faculty and class sizes averaging 15 students, enabling faculty and students to work and learn effectively together. It is a member of a 12-college consortium that allows students to cross-register at other Consortium colleges at no additional cost.

Internships can be important learning experiences that let students test potential careers. Students in all majors complete internships, which regularly are for-credit experiences during the academic year. Career Services keep up databases of available internships and will assist students with getting ready through workshops on resume writing, the interview process, and networking. Every semester, Anna Maria College places several students in internships with The Washington Center in Washington, D.C.

The Student Success Center and Career Services serve as advantageous assets all through a student’s time at Anna Maria. The Student Success Center gives help to all students free of charge in a supportive, informal setting. The Center is staffed by experts, as well as student tutors. In addition to subject-based tutoring, the Center offers study abilities workshops to help all students, especially first-year students, refine their note-taking, test-taking, and time management skills. About 90 percent of full-time undergraduate students at Anna Maria College get financial aid. Students’ letters of acceptance will incorporate notification of a merit-based scholarship determined by an academic index. Resident students may likewise be qualified for housing grants up to $2,000 every year. Need-based financial aid is determined after the accepted student submits the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Need-based aid will probably be comprised of grants, loans, and work-study.

The college has a wide network of notable alumni which includes Edward F. Davis, former Police Commissioner of the Boston Police Department, and Brendan Doherty, former Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police, 2012 Republican Candidate for Rhode Island’s First Congressional District.
