Physics aims to analyze and understand the world at its most fundamental level, from the smallest particles to the universe itself. It is the foundation of all other sciences
At USD, physics majors students take a traditional undergraduate physics curriculum that includes courses in classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, optics and electronics
During the school year and through summer research grants, students have the opportunity to work with faculty on experiments and present their research findings at national meetings

Additional info	Applicants are not required to submit English test scores if they satisfy any one of the below condition: International students who graduated from an American High School may be eligible to have their TOEFL waived if they have a 2.6 or higher GPA AND an ACT Writing sub score of 21 or higher or; SAT Critical Reading sub score of 500 or higher and Writing sub score of 500 or higher If applicants are not able to meet the above requirement, then they have to submit a score of IELTS/TOEFL
