This degree gives you a thorough grounding in physics with astrophysics as a key component
Year one there are lectures on astronomical techniques and astrophysical phenomena and in year two student will study cosmology
This course prepares students for a research career in astrophysics but also gives you the flexible career options that a Physics degree offers
Students will gain the skills needed for astronomical observations and analysis of data from international ground- and space-based observatories on this course, but will also have the opportunity to develop a physicist’s broad range of transferable skills
• Student will undertake a project or dissertation in the BSc final year, and will usually work with a member of the astrophysics research group. In addition to lectures on core physics there are lectures on astrophysics.
