  • This program gives a broad assessment of contemporary international relations. It integrates theoretical approaches with the study of many cases and issues. It also explores the ways in which the line between the domestic and international is blurred by trade, financial, environmental, strategic, ideological, cultural and ethical issues
  • Students will take a combination of mandatory and optional taught units within the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies. Each unit is delivered over the course of 12 weeks and assessed by an essay (or equivalent form of written submission). The taught section of the program is followed in the summer term by a dissertation
  • Bristol graduates are in high demand and have an excellent record of employment following graduation. Students of the MSc programs go on to pursue varied and interesting careers

  • Applicants must hold/achieve a minimum of an upper-second class honors degree (also known as a 2:1) 
  • University understands that the majority of candidates from India have been taught in English throughout their education. Many departments will accept CBSE or CISCE English at 80% or above in lieu of another English test, with an MOI letter confirming that English is the teaching language of your institution
  • The majority of the master’s programs require a first-class degree (60% or higher) from a recognized Indian University, with specific grades depending on the institution Competitive programs may require first class with distinction
  • University is aware that at many of India's elite higher education colleges it is very rare to be awarded a first-class. For this reason, a number of the departments may be willing to consider candidates from top colleges who have achieved 55% or above
