This research based program will allow students to conduct original research with access to state of the art facilities, research centres, and labs
Students can choose any of the five research areas
- Biochemical Engineering- involves the studies of biodegradation, biofilms, bioreactor design, drying of spores, gasohol purification, VOC bioremediation, recombinant fermentation, and metabolic engineering and functional genomics
- Corrosion
- Fluid Mechanics- includes Multiphase pipeline flow, rheology and fluidization
- Reaction Engineering- includes studies in conversion of biomass and other waste materials to synthesis gas and value-added bioproducts, biodiesel production and utilization, alkylation and isomerization to value-added bio-products, hydrotreating of heavy gas oil, conversion of mercaptans and hydrogen sulphide on carbon catalysts, production and utilization of activated carbon and production and applications of carbon nano-tubes, the development of renewable source of energy and chemicals from biomass-derived oils under catalytic reaction conditions

Bachelors	No specific cutoff mentioned Applicants must have a four-year undergraduate degree from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study with a cumulative weighted average of at least a 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units)
Exams	TOEFL: 86 With minimum score of 19 in each area IELTS: 6.5 With minimum score of 6.0 in each area PTE: 63 With minimum score of 59 in each area
