MSc in Biomedical Science (Haematology/Medical Microbiology)

This course provides an in-depth understanding of disease processes and diagnostic techniques. It links academic knowledge to the practical applications of biomedical science, particularly in relation to modern diagnostic methods
Students can choose to study one of two pathways – hematology or medical microbiology
The program comprises four taught modules (two core, two specialist), plus an extended research project where students are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and to develop competences in advanced laboratory techniques

Bachelors	55.0% Applicants must have 2:2 or a good honours degree or equivalent in; biomedical science; medical microbiology; medic medical genetics; molecular biology; hematology; or immunology Other biology and medical science degrees will be considered on an individual basis All applicants must demonstrate a sufficient understanding of mammalian biology and immunology. Prior study of microbiology and hematology is preferred Applicants with professional experience may be eligible
Exams	IELTS: 6.5 With 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking PTE: 58 With no element below 58
Additional info	Copies of transcripts and certificates ELP requirement may be waived for applicants who have passed 12th English with a minimum of 70% Two references, at least one of which should be an academic reference (eg a college/university tutor or course director).
