Students are expected to complete 20 credit hours of course-work, 4 hours credit hours of research and 6 hours of thesis research (total of 30 hours) within two years
The Microbiology Graduate Program will be overseen by Drs. Julie Maresca in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Nicole Donofrio in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences

Bachelors	3.0 GPA Applicants should have a BA or BS in Microbiology or a related field, and as part of their undergraduate training, should have completed the following (or the equivalent): two years of biological sciences; one year of mathematics, preferably including calculus and/or statistics; one semester of college physics; one year of general chemistry; and at least one semester of organic chemistry A minimum of 3.0/4.0 is required in the major Other applicants will be considered if they have strong academic backgrounds in other scientific areas Applicants must complete any deficiency in undergraduate training in the first year of graduate study
