  • Our MPharm course has moved away from a modular approach and been carefully structured to integrate chemistry, pharmaceutics, microbiology, physiology, pharmacology and health psychology with the practice of pharmacy in providing the best care for patients.

  • This is achieved in a case-based manner so students can see the science behind patient care as immediately relevant.

  • To provide students with the pharmaceutical knowledge, attributes and skills to enable successful undertaking of a pre-registration training year and subsequently, pursuance of a career in any branch of pharmacy.

  • To encourage the development of critical thinking, integrative capabilities and problem-solving skills appropriate for a Master’s degree. 

  • To facilitate the development of personal, social, behavioural and communication skills for effective interaction with patients, colleagues and health care professionals.

  • To engender professional and ethical awareness, an understanding of the contribution that pharmacists can make to patient-focused health care and an appreciation of the need for continuing professional development.
