  • Engineering Science encompasses a vast range of subjects, from microelectronics to offshore oil platforms, and involves the application of creative reasoning, science, mathematics (and of course experience and common sense) to real problems
  • In the third and fourth years, there is scope for specialization into one of six branches of engineering: Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Information and Mechanical
  • Students will choose to specialize in one of the eight branches of Engineering Science:

  • The course is accredited every four years by the major engineering institutions in respect of the initial requirements for the designation of chartered engineer

Entry Criteria

Class 12th90%
  • Year XII qualification studied with either the CBSE (All-India SSC) or CISCE (ISC) boards
    • For CBSE board: Grades A1 A1 A1 A1 A2, with grade A1 in any subjects relevant to the course applied for (marks of 91 or above for A1 and 81 to 90 for A2)
    • For CISCE board: Overall grade of at least 90%, with 95% or above in four subjects (including any relevant to the course applied for) and 85% or above in the fifth subject
  • Subject Required: Mathematics and Physics
ExamsIELTS: 7.5
At least 7.0 in each of the four components

  • A reference from a teacher or someone else who is qualified to comment on applicants academic ability
  • Submit a personal statement that can be written up to 4,000 characters
  • All candidates must also take the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) lasting for 2 hours and sat under timed conditions
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Interviews will be held in Oxford in December
  • Applicants who have been educated full-time in the medium of the English language throughout the two most recent years application deadline, and who remain in full-time education conducted in the English language until the end of the school year in their home country can be  exempted from English proficiency requirements
