  • Medical engineering applies engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes
  • From biomaterials to joint replacement technology, this course will equip students with the knowledge and skills to advance healthcare treatments including monitoring, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation
  • Students can choose to take either the four-year Integrated Masters (MEng, BEng) or the three-year Bachelor’s (BEng) degree on this course
  • In Years 1 and 2, students will study compulsory modules to establish the core mechanical engineering principles required by all branches of mechanical engineering
  • Inn Year 3, students will take specialist medical engineering modules. These will allow them to explore structure and function of the body and biomedical engineering design, and consider a medical device from conception through regulatory approval to delivery to the market (and ultimately the patient)
  • There is also an opportunity to study with the University’s medical physicists and learn more about specific medical imaging modalities

  • Applicants must have passed 12th standard with 60-85% overall average including 75-90% in two relevant subjects
  • Subjects required:- Mathematics and Physics

  • with no less than 56 in any component

  • Applicants with 70%-75% and above marks in Standard XII in English depending on state board can fulfil English language requirement
  • The UK Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) operates a scheme called the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
  • International applicants (non-EU/EEA or Swiss citizen) and require a student visa to study in the UK then applicants will need an ATAS certificate to study the four-year MEng, BEng course at the University of Leeds
