  • Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in engineering or in an equivalent quantitative field of study
  • Students who do not meet this requirement may have to take additional courses at the discretion of the graduate adviser
  • A grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a comparable GPA in upper-division work—junior- and senior-level courses—and in any graduate work already completed is also required

  • The average GPA of recently admitted students is 3.74 on a 4.0 scale in upper-division or graduate work
  • There is no minimum score required by ME and the department does not require any special subject tests
  • Average GRE scores for recently admitted ME, graduate students:
    • GRE V: 590 (GRE General Test) 159 (Revised GRE Test)
    • GRE Q: 770 (GRE General Test) 163 (Revised GRE Test)
  • Preferred TOEFL for ME/ORIE department: 90 or above on (iBT)

Documents Required:

  • An official transcript from every senior college attended
    • Even if courses taken at one institution are recorded on another college's transcript, transcripts must be submitted from the institution at which the courses were taken
    • Each transcript (mark sheet) should contain a complete record of studies at the institution from which it is issued (i.e., the subjects taken and grades [marks] earned in each subject)
  • Proof Of English language Proficiency
  • GRE or GMAT scores
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation required
