  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering. Applicants with a four-year bachelor’s degree in other disciplines may be considered but additional undergraduate courses in electrical engineering or computer engineering may be required
  • A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (a minimum of 10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of the undergraduate degree
  • Applicants who choose Software Engineering as a specialization must have a four-year bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution. In addition, applicants must have:
    • At least one year of experience in software development
    • Background knowledge in C or C++
    • Knowledge of object-oriented design and human-computer interaction
  • Applicants with a four-year bachelor's degree in other disciplines may be considered, but additional undergraduate courses in software engineering may be required

  • A Graduate Program Director may exempt an applicant whose first language is not English from the ELP requirement if they meet the following criteria:
    • The student has completed one of the following degrees in an institution where the sole language of instruction and examination is English:
      • a Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of 3 years in length), or  
      • a Graduate Degree
    • Eligible institutions must be listed as providing English language instruction in the World Higher Education Database (WHED)
