  • An undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (i.e. engineering, Computer Science, economics, mathematics, business) from an accredited institution is required
  • University coursework or professional experience in computer programming is required
  • Knowledge of C, C++, or Java (with a focus on object-oriented programming) is preferred
    • Those admitted to the program are strongly encouraged to learn Python prior to beginning the program
    • Coursework in Linear Algebra and Statistics is strongly recommended
  • A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required

Additional info
  • The department does not have a programming requirement for applicants, but the department does strongly recommend that students admitted to the program without programming experience study on their own and come prepared for programming boot camp at orientation. Python is a good place to start
