  • The integrated curriculum is organ-based and modeled after the first two years of the curriculum at the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UASOM)
  • Students will interact with and learn from faculty who teach in various professional programs, including UAB’s medical school, dental school, and Physician Assistant Studies program
  • The MSBHS program is ideal for the following individuals:
    • those working to improve their academic (GPA, standardized test score) and/or professional records immediately after undergraduate school to improve their applications to professional schools
    • those transitioning to other careers requiring coursework in the biomedical and health sciences before applying to professional schools.
    • those interested in taking coursework in the biomedical and health sciences modeled after a medical school curriculum (first two years) in preparation for similar studies
  • Elective courses can be tailored to a student’s interest and preparation for a specific professional school. Elective courses are developed with student feedback and represent student ownership of the program
  • The program model can also be beneficial to students who are returning to college after working in healthcare or other industry
