This course will prepare students to become a public health professional ready to address local and global health problems
Students will learn about multidisciplinary, evidence-based approaches, and be taught by researchers who are experts in epidemiology, evidence synthesis, randomized controlled trials, and social medicine
This course will provide students with a grounding in research methods, epidemiology, and biostatistics
Students will study a range of compulsory and optional modules that will equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills, practice, and experience to improve their understanding of:
- Research methods applicable to population-based research
- The impact of major communicable and non-communicable diseases on population health globally
- Effective methods of disease prevention and health promotion
- Health inequalities and their effect on health and wellbeing
- The health systems approach to public health globally
- Public health practice and policy
- Epidemiology and statistics
- The theory and practice of health promotion
- Ethics and human rights in health practice

Additional info	Applicants may not need to provide evidence of ELP if they have completed a degree within two years of their start date which has been taught in English They will need to provide official confirmation from the institution where they completed their degrees that the medium of instruction was in English
