  • The Master of Information Systems has been developed in response to the rapid growth in the use of information systems and eBusiness applications by businesses and governments internationally. The mass adoption of social media, the advances of new technologies, and the accumulation of large amounts of data has made information central to many aspects of work and life
  • The course provides specialist skills in business-oriented principles and practices of information systems and eBusiness. It focuses on the strategic use of information in a business and policy context, supported by a sound technical understanding and capability in specific areas of information systems, particularly information security, supply chain management, and project management
  • The course will give students an understanding of the principles and practices of stakeholder analysis, identification of business needs, problems and opportunities, analysis, negotiation and specification of requirements for any solution that may involve a technology-inspired change
  • Students will learn quantitative reasoning skills so that they can review business performance to find problems, areas of opportunities, and trends in data using business analytics. Students will learn data-driven, evidence-based approaches to business decision making and business performance analysis, and they will get an understanding of business metrics
  • Master of Information Systems is typically 1, 1.5 or 2 years duration:
    • 1-year full time (2 years part-time) – 8 credit points
    • 1.5 years full time (3 years part-time) – 12 credit points
    • 2 years full time (4 years part-time) – 16 credit points

  • If the student is taking admission into 1-year full-time course-8 credit points then admission is based on:
    • Bachelor honors (AQF8) degree in a related discipline, or
    • Bachelor degree in a related discipline, plus two years of relevant work experience, or
    • Graduate certificate or graduate diploma in a related discipline, or
    • Evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent
  • If the student is taking admission into 1.5-year full-time course-12 credit points then admission based on:
    • Bachelor degree in a related discipline, or
    • Bachelor degree in any discipline, plus two years of relevant work experience, or
    • Evidence of academic capability judged to be equivalent
  • If the student is taking admission into 2-year full-time course-16 credit points then admission based on
    • Bachelor degree or other qualification at a higher AQF level in any discipline, or
    • Successful completion of the Masters Qualifying Program
