  • Applicants without a bachelor degree in engineering, such as geology, soil & crop sciences, chemistry, biology, etc must take undergraduate civil engineering course work to bring their engineering background to an acceptable level

    • Physics for Scientists and Engineers
    • General Chemistry I 
    • Engineering Mechanics-Statics, Dynamics 
    • Fluid Mechanics 
    • Mechanics of Solids 
    • Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations 
  • Applicants that hold a BS in an engineering discipline that is not Civil Engineering should have the appropriate knowledge/background in subject areas related to the graduate study specialization they select
  • As a minimum, preparation in the following two background areas must be satisfied by the applicants:
    • Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydraulics, and Related Graduate Programs
      • Fluid Mechanics
      • Hydrology 
    • Structural Engineering, Solid Mechanics, and Related Graduate Programs
      • Mechanics of Solids
      • Structural Engineering/ Structural Analysis
    • Geotechnical, Geo-Environmental Engineering, and Related Graduate Programs
