  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0, from an accredited institution, is required
  • Applicants with an undergraduate degree in environmental, civil, chemical or mechanical engineering, physics, or biology can apply
  • Applicants seeking a career in environmental engineering, as well as those already working in the field, are welcomed
  • Applicants without a previous engineering degree who have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science discipline may be required to take additional engineering courses, including undergraduate courses, not for credit towards a degree
  • All applicants must have at least two years of calculus and one year of chemistry

  • Applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria can petition to waive the proof of English proficiency requirement if, prior to matriculation at Stevens, they will have:
    • Earned a Bachelor's degree from a college/university outside the U.S. that uses English as the language of instruction
    • Completed two years of full-time graduate study at a college/university outside the U.S. that uses English as the language of instruction
    • Earned a master's degree from a college/university outside the U.S. that uses English as the language of instruction
  • Meeting one or more of the above criteria makes applicants eligible to petition to waive the proof of English proficiency requirement waived, but it does not guarantee that they will be granted a waiver
  • Even if a waiver is granted, applicants will still be required to complete the Stevens English Communication Proficiency Exam (ECPE) upon arrival to campus
  • Applicants who petition to waive the proof of English proficiency requirement are responsible for providing proof that English is the language of instruction at the college/university they attended through an official transcript
