The Master of Science in Civil Engineering program provides highly specialized design-oriented and management courses, and offers students the opportunity for independent research, preparing them to make significant contributions within the profession and to respond to the changing needs of engineers in today’s workforce
This program is also for students who would like to advance their careers, pursue further studies in a doctoral program, or seek a specialized focus in civil engineering
Students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills set to make significant contributions to the profession, working in areas of high-impact innovation such as bridge engineering, construction engineering and management, public works policy, and transportation systems analysis
Student can choose from the following concentrations:
- Construction Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Transportation Engineering

Bachelors	3.0 GPA Applicant should have a four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution
Exams	TOEFL: 90 With a minimum section score of 20 IELTS: 6.5 With a minimum section score of 6.5 PTE: 63 With a minimum section score of 53 GRE: 292 292 in quantitative and verbal, and 2.5 in analytical writing
Additional info	During the admission process, Illinois Tech waives TOEFL or IELTS requirements if the applicants: first or native language is English have received a degree from an English-speaking institution and have attended that school for at least two years school’s official medium of instruction is in English, per transcripts
